We have wizard style installation programs for the jflicks media system. At it’s heart the system is distributed with one or more servers supplying media to one or more clients.

We wrote a simple installation and quick start guide.

Installation and Quick Start Guide

All of these installation programs assume you have Java 6 (1.6) or higher installed on your system.

The server only install is for Linux and runs on both 32 and 64 bit machines. We also have a Windows install. The only supported recorder is the HDHomerun, so it’s needed to have DVR functionality.

If you are going to just be running everything on one machine, you can install the client server combination. All services run in one Java Virtual Machine. We do have a 32bit and 64bit versions, and a Windows version. The Windows version only supports the HDHomerun for recording TV so it is required for DVR functionality.
